Views from the Ganges in Varanasi

I took so many amazing pictures on our musical evening boat ride that first evening in Varanasi, that I must post a few more!! This is the Shivala ghat (ghat means steps leading to the river) You can see the cows lined up. They are seen on every road and walkway as well as on these steep steps.

From the river the sun was setting beyond the ghats. Aren’t these pink roof shapes so beautiful?

Another pink building with beautiful shapes!

What can I say about this image? So much to look at! The entrance is to a temple for Shiva. He is the Hindu God representing transformation and destruction of whatever it is that we need to let go of in order to grow towards our highest realization, for example, the limiting qualities of ego!
